In connection with the 40th Anniversary of the scientific discovery entitled as ‘Phenomenon of Wave Localization in Autoretarding Solid Phase Reactions’ which marked the birth of Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS) (http://www.ism.ac.ru/handbook/shsf.htm) and the 20th Anniversary of the Institute of Structural Macrokinetics and Materials Science (http://www.ism.ac.ru/), the following events will be held at the Research Center RAN in Chernogolovka, October 22-24, 2007:

• Solemn Ceremony organized by the Presidium of the Research Center in Chernogolovka and the Scientific Council at the Institute of Structural Macrokinetics and Materials Science with presentation of jubilee awards
