1. By invitation of Dr. P. Vincenzini, Prof. A. Merzhanov and Dr. A. Sytschev visited (in July 2003) the headquarters of the World Academy of Ceramic (WAC) in Faenza, Italy. Dr. Vincenzini informed about the structure of WAC, its session in Instanbul, and about oncoming Forum of WAC in 2004. Prof. Merzhanov made a brief report on recent VII Symposium on SHS in Cracow, Poland. Dr. Sytschev informed Dr. Vincenzini about the work done on organization of SHS-AS, its first actions, further plans, and forthcoming French-Russian workshop on SHS to be held by SHS-AS in Chernogolovka (Russia) on October 6-9, 2003.
It was agreed to
to organize one of WAC actions in Russia
to continue the efforts on creation of topical associations
to publish some SHS papers in Industrial Ceramics
to held the French-Russian workshop on SHS under the aegis of WAC
Prof. Merzhanov invited Dr. Vincenzini to visit ISMAN at any convenient for him time.
2. Another working meeting with Prof. Giacomo Cao, University of Cagliari, Italy, was devoted to discussing the problems related to organization of the VIII Symposium on SHS (2005, Sardenia, Italy).
