From September 16 till 20, 2019 the 15th International Symposium on SHS was successfully held in Moscow

The 15th International Symposium on SHS dedicated to the memory of academician A.G. Merzhanov, professor I.P. Borovinskaya, professor V.M. Shkiro was held from September 16 till 20, 2019 in Moscow on the base of the National University of Science and Technology “MISIS” (MISIS).

An important distinguishing feature of this Symposium was the interdisciplinary nature of the topics discussed including both traditional areas of research in the field of SHS (combustion theory and modeling, kinetics and mechanism of chemical and structural transformations, solution combustion synthesis, mechanical activation of SHS-systems, SHS in thin films, SHS in metallurgy and welding, etc.) and related areas of research (ultrahigh temperature materials, consolidation, hybrid and additive technologies, molding by explosion energy, etc.).

Thanks to the coordinated work of the organizing committee including the representatives both of MISIS and ISMAN a record number of participants gathered together. 160 people from 16 countries all over the world (Armenia, Belarus, China, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Poland, South Korea, Turkey, USA and Russia) took part in the work of the Symposium. There is a particularly pleasant indicator — 72 participants are young scientists. The scientific program of the Symposium included 123 participants with oral presentations (among them — 4 plenary presentations and 26 key reports). The poster session consisted of 84 presentations.
